1. What is AidTrans Studio?

AidTrans Studio is a translation memory tool. It is a part of software tools family called translation memory tools. The other name is translation memory systems or translation memory applications or just CAT tools. It assists translators by providing functionality that makes the translation process much easier and faster.

2. Is it possible to add comments to segments within translation editor of AidTrans Studio?

Yes. There is a set of additional information for each segment: comment, user that last modified the segment, date of modification, and so on.

3. Can I use in AidTrans Studio translation memories that I have created in some other translation memory tool?

Yes, you can import translation memory extract file into AidTrans Studio translation memory manager. AidTrans Studio Translation Memory Manager supports the most popular formats, like: tmx, access database, excel worksheet, xml file, delimited text, Trados TWB text files, Transit 2.7 /Fortis files.

4. Can I use in AidTrans Studio terminology databases or glossaries that I have created in some other translation memory tool?

Yes, you can import terminology database file using import function from AidTrans Studio terminology manager. AidTrans Studio Terminology Manager supports the most popular formats, like: tmx, access database, excel worksheet, xml file, delimited text, multiterm text files.

5.Can I use beta releases of AidTrans Studio for commercial purposes?

Yes, however each beta release is valid till the date specified in About window, after this date you need to download updated release from AidTrans Soft website. To display About window select Help > About in the AidTrans Studio main menu.

6.Is the number of languages limited in AidTrans Studio?

No. In each edition you can use any language supported by AidTrans Studio - the total number of supported languages is over 100. You can find list of Encodings supported in the manual appendix for each AidTrans Studio edition.

7.Is there any additional fee for import filters?

No. Each AidTrans Studio edition is distributed as the package, so there are no additional components which should be purchased.
Basic Edition:
As Basic edition is free of charge, it supports only Ms Word .xml files and OpenOffice Writer files.
Professional and Enterprise:
Professional and Enterprise editions contain full import filters set and there will be additional filters included in application with next releases.

8.Are beta editions fully functional?

Yes, beta releases include all the features and functionality is not limited.
